Meet the Author

Kirk was born and raised in Curtis, Nebraska, a small farming community, located in the southwest corner of the state, and home of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Lloyd “Gus” Wolgamott, his father, owned and operated a Standard Oil gas station. Mother Hilda was an elementary school teacher who shifted to school librarian, where Kirk developed a love of books and reading.

 

He attended local Medicine Valley Junior Senior High School where he became the football player of the year, a district track champion and winner of the Bacherman Award, presented to the outstanding senior.

 

From there, he went to Lincoln where he attended the University of Nebraska’s Teachers College, majoring in Social Studies with an emphasis in English, where he was the President of the Nebraska Student Education Association. Kirk graduated with honors.

 

Then, it was off to Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and law school. He clerked for a private firm, Oregon Inmate Legal Services and the Oregon Attorney General on the way to earning his juris doctorate (JD).

Kirk started his career as a criminal defense attorney in Roseburg, Oregon in the Slocum Law Firm. Family responsibilities led him back to Nebraska, where after a short tenure working for Lexis/Nexis, he started his own practice in Lincoln. Wolgamott practiced criminal defense law in Lincoln / Lancaster County for twenty years.

 

The practice was in Federal, State and municipal courts and consisted of all types of crime; homicide, assault, drugs, pedophilia, fraud, driving while intoxicated and other crime.

 

Kirk has retired from his active courtroom practice and is currently an attorney advisor for a federal government agency and is stationed in Winchester, Virginia.

 

In his spare time, when not writing incredible novels, Kirk enjoys American history, football (“Go Big Red!”, Nebraska Cornhuskers and “Who Dat?” New Orleans Saints), college basketball (NE Huskers, UConn Huskies) and major league baseball (Nationals).

 

Wolgamott also enjoys spending time with his family; Son Dan, Daughters Ella and Ava and Hilda, the 98-year-old family matriarch. Bunny rabbits Pierre and Poppi Lapin are just a bonus.
